Role Overview
The Associate position is a full-time, on-site role located in Chicago, Illinois. Core daily tasks include performing detailed financial and business due diligence, constructing and updating comprehensive financial models, and evaluating new investment opportunities. The Associate supports deal execution by preparing investment memoranda, coordinating with external advisors, and engaging in meetings with management teams and sponsors. This role also involves monitoring the performance of portfolio companies, generating internal reports, and contributing to market and industry research to guide investment decisions. Close collaboration with senior team members is required, including active participation in investment committee discussions and assistance in fine-tuning investment strategies and deal structures.
Candidate Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and modeling, valuation methods, and financial statement interpretation.
- Proficient in conducting research and market analysis, synthesizing both qualitative and quantitative information into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to craft clear investment memos and deliver effective verbal presentations to stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management capabilities to handle multiple deals, meet deadlines, and coordinate with advisors and portfolio teams.
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with sponsors, management teams, and colleagues across organizational levels.
- Relevant background in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, or management consulting is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications such as MBA or CFA are considered a plus.
- High attention to detail, adherence to ethical standards, and a genuine interest in investing in lower middle-market companies.
