About the Role

Mint Cannabis is seeking a Budtender for its Villa Park, IL location. This role is crucial for providing an exceptional customer experience by educating patients and consumers on various cannabis products. The Budtender will also contribute to the daily operations of the dispensary, ensuring smooth order fulfillment and adherence to compliance standards, all within a professional and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in customers, verifying their status and accurately recording allotments in the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Provide expert guidance and education on cannabis products to patients and customers.
• Efficiently and compliantly assist customers in selecting appropriate products.
• Process customer orders and handle payments with high accuracy using POS software.
• Manage the cash register, including opening, closing, reconciliation, and deposit procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment for both customers and colleagues.
• Offer support to other departments, such as administration and packaging, as needed.
• Assist with daily operational tasks, including restocking inventory and supporting compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card as per state regulations.
• A minimum of one year of experience in retail, customer service, or a similar field is preferred.
• Possess a working knowledge of medical cannabis and its various consumption methods.
• Familiarity with local cannabis products and transaction limits is beneficial.
• Understanding of state cannabis regulations and dispensary compliance protocols is required.
• Proficiency in operating POS systems and standard software applications.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and the capacity to perform under pressure in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Education and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
• Capacity to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity for product handling and POS system operation.

Work Environment

• The role operates within a cannabis retail dispensary.
• Expect exposure to strong odors, moderate noise levels, and continuous customer interaction.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required based on specific tasks or departmental support needs.
