Building Designer

About the Role

Enduro Builders is looking for a Building Designer to join its expanding design team in South Australia. This is an opportunity to work on projects that move from concept through to construction, with the satisfaction of seeing your design work become a finished build.

The company is a technology-led construction business focused on Low Energy and Passive House homes. Its use of in-house IT systems supports efficient pricing, better coordination, and early issue resolution before building starts. As a well-established firm working with premium residential clients, the business offers a wide range of projects that can help you broaden and sharpen your expertise.

You will be part of the pre-contract team, where collaboration is central. The role involves shared accountability for delivering high-quality outcomes on time, within budget, and with minimal defects. The workplace is described as supportive, positive, and geared toward professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Create residential architectural designs and prepare the required documentation.
• Work closely with clients from the initial concept stage through to construction to keep their project on track.
• Produce 3D models using Revit and SketchUp.
• Use your CAD and IT capabilities to support data gathering and cross-checking for estimating.
• Review architectural drawings and align them with returned engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with consultants and internal stakeholders to address issues and resolve inconsistencies.
• Prepare preliminary NatHERS reports in First Rate 5; training will be provided if needed, and prior competence is considered an advantage.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in the building industry.
• Strong design ability and relevant practical experience.
• Confidence in dealing with clients, understanding briefs, updating drawings, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Good understanding of building terminology, with added value if you also know constructability and engineering-related language.
• High comfort level and good speed in Revit and SketchUp, with Revit being especially important.
• A genuine interest in energy-efficient construction, building science, and delivering strong outcomes for clients.
