Job description

Role Overview

Delpath is hiring 3 Business Analysts for an IT-focused assignment in the Greater Toronto Area. The role is set up as a hybrid position with three in-office days each week at 40 King Street W, 13th Floor. The expected anchor days are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Contract Details

The contract is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and run through 31 December 2026. There is a possibility of extension based on business needs and performance. Conversion to a full-time role may also be considered under the same conditions.

Schedule

This position follows a standard weekday schedule of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, for a total of 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data migration initiatives by mapping legacy information to new cloud-based data products and documenting the full data journey from source to target.
  • Analyze and profile data using SQL Server, including complex queries and stored procedures, to uncover inconsistencies and quality issues.
  • Review existing Power BI reports, DAX logic, queries, and dataflows to identify the business rules embedded in reporting solutions.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for data quality and governance issues, and help maintain clean data across CRM environments such as Salesforce.
  • Work closely with business, data, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and contribute to data solution design.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant has a strong background in business or data analysis, with the ability to discuss technical details clearly and confidently. Experience in data-heavy transformation work is especially important.

Required Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst, with direct exposure to data migration work, data lineage documentation, and source-to-target mapping.
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on SQL Server experience, including building and analyzing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • 3 to 5 years working with Power BI, especially for interpreting existing reports, DAX calculations, queries, and dataflows.
  • Practical experience in data quality and governance, including investigation of data issues and support for CRM data hygiene.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data environments, ideally Azure Databricks, and using them to map legacy data into newer platforms.

Preferred Background

  • Experience with Salesforce is strongly preferred, ideally 2 to 3 years.
  • Prior work across multiple stakeholder groups, including business, data, and IT teams, is an advantage.
  • Exposure to master data management tools is desirable.
  • Experience gathering requirements and building data solutions for related projects is helpful.
  • Previous experience in top banks or financial institutions is considered a plus.

Selection Process

There will be one in-person interview at 40 King Street West on the 13th floor. The interview is expected to last about 45 minutes with the hiring manager. Candidates should prepare a presentation covering their portfolio, relevant skills, how their experience aligns with the role, and a high-level summary of their projects and responsibilities. This presentation must be sent to the hiring manager 24 hours before the scheduled interview. Applicants are also expected to bring their laptops for the in-person presentation.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is required. A Databricks certification is considered a nice-to-have.
