Job description

Role Overview

This position is for the MICE Operations team at a deputy manager level, reporting to the Vice President for the Corporate Channel. The role is based in Mumbai and is focused on delivering end-to-end execution of corporate Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions across both domestic and international locations.

About the Function

MakeMyTrip’s Corporate Channel helps organizations manage travel and event needs with greater control and efficiency. Its MyBiz platform supports self-booking for business travel with real-time reservations, policy compliance, and cost optimisation. More than 59,000 companies currently use MyBiz to simplify corporate travel management.

The same business also includes a rapidly expanding MICE vertical that handles complete planning and execution for group travel and events. This covers offsites, reward programs, conferences, and exhibitions, supported by a strong supplier ecosystem, centralized contracting, and cost-focused planning.

Together, MyBiz and MICE allow the company to act as a full-service partner for corporate mobility and engagement, serving everyday travel as well as large strategic events.

Role Scope

The selected professional will oversee the full operational lifecycle of corporate MICE movements, from post-sales takeover through final billing closure. The job requires tight operational control, supplier management, financial accuracy, strong crisis response, and smooth on-ground delivery for large groups ranging from 50 to 1000+ participants.

This is a detail-driven role for someone capable of handling several high-value accounts while maintaining execution quality and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and execute corporate MICE programs end to end, including meetings, incentives, conferences, leadership meets, and reward-and-recognition events.

Build operational plans covering travel, accommodation, transfers, food and beverage arrangements, and event setups.

Work with airlines, hotels, destination management companies, transport vendors, and event agencies to ensure reliable delivery.

Negotiate commercial terms to achieve better pricing, upgrades, and additional value for clients.

Track event budgets, monitor expenses, and protect margins according to the approved profit and loss structure.

Check vendor invoices, coordinate with the finance team, and support payments, reconciliations, and final billing.

Handle visa coordination, documentation, and compliance requirements for travellers in a timely manner.

Keep clients informed, manage updates proactively, and respond effectively to changes at the last minute.

Travel with groups whenever needed to supervise execution and enhance the guest experience on site.

Manage on-ground event activities such as check-ins, F&B operations, themed evenings, and production arrangements.

Resolve operational issues including delays, overbookings, and unexpected disruptions.

Prepare fallback plans to reduce risk and keep events running smoothly in critical situations.

Maintain trackers, circulate progress updates, and complete post-event reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

A graduate with 6 to 10 years of experience in contracting, sales, operations, or MICE is required.

Experience in corporate travel, event management, or hospitality will be an added advantage.

What This Role Offers

This position provides exposure to corporate business development and account management, interaction with senior industry professionals and clients, opportunities to build strong networks, access to data analysis and strategic decision-making, and the chance to work with domestic as well as international MICE destinations.

Additional Information

The role involves handling large corporate groups and may require travel with the group when operationally needed. Candidates should be comfortable managing fast-changing situations and maintaining control across multiple moving parts.
