About the role

This temporary remote opportunity is for a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the Business Management Office for up to 26 weeks. In this role, you will build and deliver business intelligence tools that help inform decisions and improve efficiency across NASA-related operations. The work centers on data analysis, reporting, visualization, and automation, with close collaboration across stakeholders to produce practical, accurate, and interactive solutions.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent certification, in a relevant discipline is required.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a similar field is required.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on work with Power BI and Paginated Reports is expected.
• Advanced Excel expertise is needed, including VBA, Power Query, and Named Tables.
• Strong SQL skills are required, including the ability to write efficient queries against large datasets, with at least 1 year of experience.
• Experience in building and maintaining MS SSRS reports is required, with at least 1 year of experience.
• The role calls for strong written and verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving ability.
• Candidates should be able to show examples of insightful report and dashboard work, such as sample PBIX files.
• A typing speed of at least 40 words per minute is required.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and be eligible to pass a U.S. government background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver business intelligence solutions, including Power BI dashboards tailored to stakeholder needs.
• Create methods that let users override data or add variables to existing datasets.
• Develop interactive report elements that support user input and data adjustments.
• Drive automation efforts to reduce manual work and improve process flow.
• Work with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into workable BI solutions.
• Use tools such as Visual Analytics, SQL, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Visio to support process automation.
• Maintain strong data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting outputs.
• Partner with database stakeholders to improve data movement and reporting performance.
• Pull data from multiple databases and systems to produce relevant reports and insights.
• Handle additional analysis, visualization, and reporting tasks as needed.
