REVOLVE is a modern fashion destination built for Millennial and Gen Z shoppers. As a premium lifestyle brand and discovery-led online retailer, it offers a highly curated assortment of more than 45,000 styles across apparel, footwear, accessories, and beauty. The company connects a large, highly engaged audience with thousands of global fashion influencers and more than 500 emerging, established, and in-house brands. Over 16 years of investment in technology, data, and innovative marketing and merchandising has helped build a platform designed to shape the future of fashion retail.
The company is based in Cerritos, California and is driven by a fast-moving team of more than 1,000 people. It looks for energetic, creative, flexible, and diverse professionals who enjoy a high-paced environment.
Role summary
The Buyer will play a key role in shaping the site assortment so that the most important trends and product elements are strongly represented. This position requires strong knowledge of women’s ready-to-wear brands and current fashion trends, along with the ability to make assortment decisions with limited supervision.
Key responsibilities
The role involves analyzing customer needs, trend direction, competitors, merchandising priorities, sales history, and inventory levels to determine what product should be bought and when. The Buyer will manage assortment planning, oversee recuts, reorder activity, recolors, and deadline tracking, and keep brand budgets and category/SKU levels aligned with macro budget goals. The position also includes identifying in-season opportunities and risks through sales analysis, reviewing performance to recommend markdown timing and slow-seller returns, and managing buys, purchase orders, and order approvals in coordination with upper management and analysts.
The Buyer will also train, guide, and support the Buying Assistant, and must be able to manage several brands at once while maintaining a strong strategic view and close attention to detail.
Required competencies
Success in this role requires the ability to work across multiple brands and priorities, negotiate effectively with vendors on returns, sell-through guarantees, and trade discounts, and use strong critical-thinking skills. The candidate should thrive under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and bring solid analytical ability, sound judgment, creativity, and strong organization. Building productive relationships across teams and functions is also important, along with a strong interest in and understanding of industry trends.
Experience and qualification requirements
This role requires prior experience as a Buyer, along with 1 to 3 years of women’s buying experience. Candidates should have a strong grasp of retail math, including markup, margin, planning, open-to-buy, and inventory productivity measures. Proficiency with email, preferably Gmail, and Microsoft Office is expected.
A bachelor’s degree in Fashion or Business is preferred. The preferred background includes 3 to 5 years of women’s buying experience, ideally in the activewear space.
Work style
The ideal candidate works well with minimal supervision, adapts easily to change, and is comfortable contributing wherever needed in a dynamic team environment.
Perks and benefits
Employees may receive a discount of 50% or more on merchandise, free weekly lunches, and company events and parties.
Compensation and application note
For California-based hires, the estimated annual pay range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000. Compensation may vary based on business needs, skills, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
After applying, candidates should check their spam or junk folder for status emails, as messages are sent from an ADP address.
