The opportunity
A permanent full-time Cleaner role is available within the Operations team at TAFE Queensland’s Acacia Ridge campus in South Brisbane, Queensland. This advertisement may also be used to create a talent pool for similar roles that become available later.
The Cleaner will be responsible for carrying out the region’s day-to-day cleaning needs so that students, staff, and members of the public have access to a clean and hygienic environment.
The position reports to the relevant Operations Supervisor.
Key duties
- Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks across classrooms, administration areas, workshops, and toilets.
- Work with a strong understanding of workplace health and safety laws, processes, and principles, ensuring all duties are completed safely and in line with applicable legislation.
- Store and maintain cleaning products, hazardous substances, and equipment securely and in accordance with documented procedures.
- Take an active role in the Operations team by attending team meetings and assisting with other duties when required.

Selection criteria
The preferred candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities in the context of the role:
- Ability to work effectively in a team, make sound decisions, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience performing cleaning duties in a multi-functional environment, including knowledge of modern cleaning methods.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Capacity to complete cleaning tasks with minimal supervision.
Highly desirable
- Prior experience in a cleaning role.
- Relevant qualifications.
