Role overview
The Content Moderator will examine user-generated content across digital channels and help maintain a secure and positive experience for users. The position involves spotting policy breaches, taking action where needed, and supporting wider trust-and-safety efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Assess posts, comments, images, videos, and other user-submitted material.
- Check content against platform rules and community standards.
- Flag, restrict, or remove material that breaks policy or regulatory requirements.
- Pass complicated or sensitive cases to the right internal team for further review.
- Track platform behavior and surface new patterns, risks, or emerging concerns.
- Keep moderation logs and case notes accurate and up to date.
- Assist with reviews involving abuse, fraud, or other policy-related issues.
- Work closely with trust and safety, operations, and policy stakeholders.
- Help improve moderation workflows and quality controls.
- Work toward productivity, quality, and compliance goals.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Business, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in content moderation, customer support, trust and safety, or a comparable role.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical ability.
- Capability to interpret policies and apply them fairly and consistently.
- Good spoken and written communication skills.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfort with repetitive work and the ability to stay effective while working independently.
- Experience using moderation dashboards, tools, or case management systems is expected.
- Professional approach and discretion when dealing with sensitive material.
Preferred background
- Prior experience moderating content for social media, online communities, marketplaces, or other digital platforms.
- Exposure to trust and safety operations, policy enforcement, or risk control.
- Understanding of online safety practices and platform standards.
- Experience in multilingual or international work settings.
- Ability to adjust quickly as policies and online trends change.
