Job description

Role overview

This position involves interview-stage hiring. The courier is responsible for the polite and efficient collection and delivery of packages along an assigned route, while also checking every shipment to ensure it meets Federal Express Canada service standards. The role includes associated customer service duties.

What you will do

  • Pick up and deliver packages on a designated route in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Verify shipments for compliance with Federal Express Canada service requirements.
  • Provide customer-facing support and related service functions.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • High school diploma or an equivalent educational credential.
  • A valid driver’s licence with a strong driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages weighing as much as 150 lbs using the proper equipment.
  • At least 1 year of customer-focused business experience is preferred.
  • Must meet the required score on mandatory pre-employment driver assessment training.
  • Helpful to have familiarity with Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian Customs rules.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good time management and organizational ability.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks, managing pressure, and working in a high-demand environment.
  • Willing to work flexible schedules and holidays according to business requirements.
  • Ability to work in a PC Windows environment.
  • Must complete recurring training and maintain yearly accreditations where applicable.

Additional job conditions

This role requires ongoing completion of mandatory testing and training. Work schedules may vary based on operational needs. If the employee lives in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required. For roles where driving is a core function, candidates must hold a valid driver’s licence such as Class 5, G, or 1[AZ], and have no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Selection also considers the current driver’s abstract, interview performance, and any driver competency assessments.

Pay information

The wage for this position is $22.60 per hour.
