Role Summary

This is a full-time position based on site in Dubai for a Couture Eveningwear Pattern Maker. The role centers on creating highly accurate patterns for couture eveningwear by turning design sketches into precise pattern blocks and final patterns. You will draft and refine patterns, attend fittings, make alterations, and coordinate with designers and sample makers to deliver an outstanding fit and silhouette.

What You Will Do

  • Develop exact pattern blocks and final patterns from couture design concepts and sketches.
  • Draft new patterns, refine existing ones, and carry out adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in fittings, assess garment fit, and implement precise corrections.
  • Collaborate with designers, sample makers, and the sewing team to maintain construction quality.
  • Oversee pattern-related details during garment construction to support couture standards.
  • Use both hand techniques and digital tools to improve and document pattern work.
  • Work within demanding timelines while preserving a high level of finishing and accuracy.

Required Background and Skills

  • Strong capability in pattern making and pattern development, ideally within couture or luxury eveningwear.
  • Hands-on fitting experience, including evaluating fit and making exact alterations.
  • Practical sewing knowledge tied to couture construction and refined finishing methods.
  • Comfort using CAD tools for drafting, grading, and digital pattern documentation.
  • Experience in luxury fashion ateliers, particularly with eveningwear or special-occasion garments.
  • Ability to read designer sketches, drape on mannequins, and handle fabrics such as silk, satin, tulle, and embellished textiles.
  • Strong precision, mathematical and spatial reasoning, and problem-solving ability.
  • Clear communication and strong teamwork with designers, seamstresses, and production staff.
  • Formal education in fashion design, pattern making, or garment technology is an advantage.

Additional Notes

The role requires a strong technical approach, close attention to detail, and the flexibility to work efficiently under tight deadlines while meeting couture-level standards.
