It blends hands-on creative direction with coordination, mentorship, and operational support for the brand.

Creative direction and execution

  • Carry forward the creative vision set by the Director of Brand & Creative Services.
  • Shape and oversee visual concepts and creative deliverables for campaigns, digital channels, print pieces, and video projects when needed.
  • Make sure all outputs stay aligned with the organization’s brand standards, messaging approach, and visual identity.
  • Review creative work and provide direction to uphold a consistently high quality bar.

Project and budget coordination

  • Plan, monitor, and help deliver marketing projects in line with team priorities and deadlines.
  • Work with Finance and departmental leaders on budget planning, tracking, and reconciliation.
  • Prepare recap reports, presentations, and performance updates for internal and client-facing use.
  • Oversee marketing vendors and contracts so work stays on target, on time, and within quality expectations.

Team guidance and collaboration

  • Support the development of team members through constructive input and coaching.

Cross-functional partnership

  • Coordinate with project managers so creative work progresses smoothly through production.

Brand stewardship

  • Maintain consistency across all brand expressions, including digital, print, photography, video, and campaign assets.
  • Help refine and maintain brand guidelines and creative standards over time.
  • Protect brand clarity and quality across all creative outputs.

Production and vendor support

  • Assist the Director of Brand in working with outside designers, photographers, and agencies as needed.
  • Support creative capacity planning and help with production for campaigns, content shoots, and design work.
  • Ensure external partners deliver work that meets brand expectations.

Qualifications

Candidates should bring at least 5 years of experience in design, art direction, or creative leadership. A strong portfolio showing brand, digital, and campaign work is expected, along with experience working with marketing or communications teams.

The role also calls for the ability to turn strategic direction into clear creative output, experience leading designers or creative teams, and familiarity with creative production workflows such as photography, video, and digital design. Background in mission-driven, nonprofit, or faith-based settings is preferred.

The expected pay range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 per year. Final compensation may vary depending on qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and role responsibilities.

FOCUS offers a benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance; the ability to contribute to a Health Savings Account; employer-paid life insurance; long-term disability coverage; optional supplemental life insurance for the employee, spouse, and children; a 403(b) retirement plan with discretionary employer match for eligible staff; optional LifeLock Identity Protection; integrity-based paid time off; paid parental leave; and paid holidays.
