Overview

This is a contract opportunity for a Credit Investment Analyst working remotely from the United Kingdom. The role centers on assessing a wide range of credit and debt investments and supporting portfolio decisions with rigorous analysis. The expected commitment is 10 to 40 hours each week, and the compensation is set at $100 to $200 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply strong expertise in credit and debt investing to assess instruments such as high-yield bonds, leveraged loans, and structured credit products.
  • Perform detailed underwriting and due diligence, with attention to capital structure, covenant terms, and liquidity position to shape investment recommendations.
  • Build and improve cash flow, three-statement, LBO, and downside or stress-case models to evaluate default exposure, recovery expectations, sponsor strength, and refinancing risk.
  • Examine spreads, yields, and relative value across public and private credit opportunities to support portfolio construction with attractive risk-adjusted returns.
  • Review legal agreements and documentation carefully, especially covenant packages and credit protections.
  • Work closely with the client team to provide clear, insightful written and verbal analysis that informs investment decisions.

Required Background

  • At least 2 years of experience in credit investing, underwriting, leveraged finance, or a similar field, including direct exposure to transactions and investment recommendations.
  • Strong ability to evaluate cash flow statements, debt structures, covenants, and liquidity for leveraged and private credit situations.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including three-statement, LBO, downside, and stress-testing scenarios.
  • Good understanding of default risk, recovery analysis, refinancing risk, and sponsor assessment.
  • Capability to judge spreads, yields, relative value, and risk-adjusted return potential in a portfolio construction setting.
