Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position in Cork City for a Customs and Logistics Coordinator. The role involves overseeing the daily customs and freight operations. Key responsibilities include direct client and customs agent liaison to ensure efficient global cargo movement, preparing essential export, import, and customs clearance documentation, and actively tracking and tracing shipments. The coordinator will also communicate with other company branches and agents to ensure customer satisfaction and excellent service delivery. A crucial aspect of the role is identifying the most cost-effective shipping methods while meeting customer freight requirements and ensuring adherence to all company and industry policies.
Qualifications and Skills
Successful candidates will possess strong analytical skills for interpreting shipment data, customs regulations, and logistics performance indicators, aiding in time-sensitive problem resolution. Excellent communication abilities are essential for professional interactions with clients, carriers, customs authorities, and internal teams. Proven customer service skills, including prompt responses, solution-oriented support, and maintaining positive relationships under pressure, are vital. A solid understanding of Supply Chain Management principles, particularly in freight forwarding, customs clearance, and multimodal transport, is required. Prior experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics operations (road, sea, or multimodal) is highly advantageous. Familiarity with customs systems, documentation, and EU/UK import–export regulations is a plus. Proficiency in standard office software and logistics platforms, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills, is necessary. The ability to work effectively on-site in Cork, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic, service-oriented environment is expected.
