Job description
Role Overview
United Group is hiring a seasoned Clearance & Customs Specialist for its Supply Chain Department in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The role centers on managing import and export clearance activities, ensuring adherence to Saudi customs rules, and handling customs duty exemptions, refund claims, and industrial subsidy-related processes. The position involves regular coordination with customs brokers, authorities, and internal teams to keep supply chain movements compliant, efficient, and cost-conscious.
What You Will Handle
- Manage inbound customs processes for spare parts, equipment, and raw materials, including checking invoices and assigning the correct HS codes.
- Liaise with customs brokers, Saudi Customs, SFDA, and other regulatory bodies to secure prompt shipment release and maintain full regulatory compliance.
- Track incoming shipments and ensure they reach the warehouse on schedule.
- Examine and confirm customs clearance invoices before sending them to Finance.
- Oversee export procedures, from preparing documentation and declarations to securing permits and tracking shipments.
- Prepare export certificates and compile export-related reports.
- Prepare, submit, and monitor customs duty exemption requests with the appropriate authorities.
- Compile evidence, submit claims, and follow up on reimbursements for customs duty refunds.
- Assist with industrial funding and subsidy programs by organizing documents and coordinating with banks, public entities, and legal consultants.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with customs laws, trade regulations, and internal policies while looking for ways to streamline processes and lower costs.
- Work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs teams to support smooth end-to-end supply chain operations.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Trade, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 4 and 6 years of relevant experience in customs clearance, import/export operations, or trade compliance in a supply chain setting.
- Solid understanding of Saudi customs regulations, HS code classification, and the documentation needed for imports and exports.
- Prior exposure to Saudi Customs, SFDA, customs brokers, and other government agencies.
- Strong abilities in analysis, organization, communication, and problem-solving.
