Job description
Role Purpose
This position is responsible for conducting routine inventory counts at ASMO's operational sites and yards to ensure the accuracy of inventory, the traceability of materials, and the alignment between physical stock and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP records. The role contributes to inventory control, operational efficiency, and adherence to oil & gas material handling standards, with a specific focus on OCTG, line pipes, and associated pipe yard materials. The role is based at the CPY site in Abqaiq Central Pipe Yard, a busy operational hub characterized by significant pipe handling, large-scale logistics, and intensive material management.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts for warehouse and/or pipe yard inventory.
- Verify physical quantities, material descriptions, lengths, and other specifications.
- Identify inventory discrepancies and assist in investigating their root causes.
- Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and logistics teams to resolve inventory variances.
- Ensure precise material identification and traceability for OCTG and pipe materials.
- Update inventory records and count results within WMS/ERP systems.
- Support the inventory reconciliation and stock adjustment processes.
- Monitor material locations and ensure accurate bin/location management within the yard.
- Provide assistance during annual physical inventory counts and audits.
- Ensure adherence to ASMO policies and procedures, HSE requirements, and inventory control standards.
- Report any damaged, missing, or improperly stored materials to the Inventory Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of counting activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy and warehouse operational governance.
Knowledge & Experience
- A Diploma qualification is preferred, ideally in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both spoken and written English.
- Possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role or in warehouse or inventory operations, preferably within the oil & gas or pipe yard sector.
- Experience with handling OCTG, line pipes, or industrial materials is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, or comparable platforms.
- Possess a foundational understanding of inventory control principles and cycle counting methodologies.
