Role Overview
The Captive Actuary position at Aon Services Corporation offers a unique blend of analytical rigor and client engagement. You will collaborate with a committed team to prepare, assess, and transform insurance and exposure datasets for comprehensive risk modeling. Your responsibilities include conducting stochastic and deterministic analyses, highlighting key insights, assisting captives with feasibility evaluations, placement, and premium allocation, as well as driving efficiency through task automation. Engaging in client discussions to deepen understanding of risk profiles is also essential. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients and team members to collect insurance and exposure details needed for risk modeling.
- Provide insightful perspectives that support various project needs.
- Comprehend and manage data mapping and transformations across the data flow process.
- Apply stochastic and deterministic modeling techniques to assess risks and extract valuable conclusions.
- Support captive insurance feasibility studies, placement strategies, and premium allocation modeling.
- Enhance operational efficiency by automating routine tasks.
- Engage in client meetings to understand their risk profiles thoroughly.
- Undertake additional relevant tasks as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline, or comparable professional experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and familiarity with analytical software; Python programming skills are preferred with additional coding knowledge considered advantageous.
- Experience in data modeling for analytical and reporting platforms with strong enthusiasm for data visualization.
- Competence in using sophisticated software tools for data coordination, cleansing, analysis, and delivering clear client presentations.
- Understanding of financial investments, risk impact on investment returns and profitability, alongside the ability to interpret financial ratios and company statements.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance markets and accounting practices is a significant plus.
- Awareness of best practices for data and visualization project performance.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex model results effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
