Data Business Analyst

Role overview

This contract opportunity is for an experienced Data Business Analyst to contribute to a large-scale data transformation initiative. The position is remote and based in the UK, with a day rate of £500 and an Inside IR35 engagement.

What you will do

• Work with business subject matter experts to understand source platforms, reporting needs, and how data is used across the business.
• Capture and map the existing state of data movements and reporting structures.
• Collect, assess, and sharpen requirements for Data Lake provisioning work.
• Assist with data mapping activities and source-to-target analysis.
• Partner with technical stakeholders to make sure the data model is aligned correctly.

Experience and skills

• Hands-on experience as a Data Business Analyst.
• Ability to engage stakeholders effectively and facilitate productive workshops.
• Strong understanding of source systems and reporting analysis.
• Experience in documenting data flows and end-to-end business processes.
• Solid capability in requirements elicitation and documentation.
• Working knowledge of SQL and data analysis techniques.
• Experience delivering in Agile environments.

Preferred background

• Exposure to data mapping and source-to-target lineage work.
• Familiarity with Common Data Model or enterprise data model concepts.
• Previous experience operating in Data Lake environments.
