Job description
Role Overview
An opportunity is open in the UAE for a Mechanical Engineer with data center exposure to join Digitus_Group. The position focuses on HVAC and chilled-water cooling operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and commissioning, and energy-efficiency improvements within a data center setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose HVAC issues, carry out troubleshooting, and handle maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Oversee the running and upkeep of chilled-water cooling equipment such as chillers, AHUs, fans, coils, and condensing units.
- Review cooling system behavior to spot design gaps or operational inefficiencies.
- Draft technical notes, maintenance observations, and recommendations for improvement.
- Carry out mechanical computations, including heating and cooling load assessments.
- Provide technical direction to technicians and junior team members on HVAC fault correction and solutioning.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving cooling performance and energy usage in the data center.
- Participate in and lead client discussions for requirement gathering, progress updates, and enhancement planning.
- Assist with facilities management, testing and commissioning, and project review tasks when needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Prior hands-on experience in a data center environment is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of experience in HVAC, facilities management, maintenance, or testing and commissioning.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC and chilled-water cooling systems.
