Job description

Role overview

This position sits within the Group Procurement team of Aster GCC and focuses on managing the complete sourcing lifecycle for IT-related purchases. The role is based in India, either Gurgaon or Bangalore, and functions as an extension of the UAE central procurement team. Its core purpose is to create value, strengthen compliance, and support innovation across technology spend.

The position calls for 7–9 years of focused experience in IT procurement, along with a solid grasp of technology products and services and a strong understanding of the supplier landscape across goods and service providers.

What you will do

  • Build and run sourcing approaches for IT hardware, software, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, IT services, annual maintenance contracts, and infrastructure.
  • Own the full procurement cycle, including RFPs, RFQs, commercial negotiations, bid assessment, and contract finalisation in line with group policies.
  • Work closely with IT teams to convert technical needs into clear procurement specifications.
  • Track market intelligence on OEMs, distributors, and service partners across India and the GCC.
  • Manage commercial terms, improve cost efficiency, oversee SLA performance, and reduce contractual risk.
  • Coordinate cross-border procurement activities with the central team to support approvals, compliance, and project delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in IT, Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure smooth execution.
  • Maintain dashboards, savings reports, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Follow procurement governance standards, audit expectations, and ethical sourcing requirements.

Experience and skills

Applicants should bring 7–9 years of practical experience in IT procurement, ideally within large organisations; experience in healthcare is welcome but not mandatory. The role requires strong knowledge of hardware, software licensing, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and managed services.

Successful candidates will have experience negotiating with OEMs, global technology vendors, and regional distributors, plus the ability to understand technical documentation and work effectively with architects and engineers. Exposure to multi-country procurement or GCC stakeholders is considered an advantage.

Strong commercial judgment, analytical ability, contract drafting capability, and communication skills are essential. Familiarity with ERP procurement systems, especially Oracle Fusion, is also required.

Education and certifications

A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or Business is needed. A PGDPM or MBA will be viewed favourably. Professional certifications such as MCIPS, PMP, ITIL, or cloud credentials like AWS or Azure are additional advantages.

Location and travel

The role is based in Gurgaon or Bangalore, India. Some travel within India and overseas may be needed for major projects or vendor discussions.

Role impact

This role supports the organisation’s technology procurement foundation by driving better cost control, standardising technology purchases, and improving supplier performance across the business.
