Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site Dispatcher position in Sarajevo. The person in this role will plan and coordinate dry FTL and LTL loads, allocate drivers and equipment, and keep track of routes to help ensure pickups and deliveries happen on schedule.
Key duties
- Arrange and schedule freight loads, including dry FTL and LTL shipments.
- Assign drivers and equipment according to operational needs.
- Monitor routes and shipment progress to support on-time delivery performance.
- Stay in regular contact with drivers and share timely updates.
- Inform customers about shipment status and any changes affecting delivery.
- Address delays, breakdowns, and routing issues quickly and professionally.
- Use dispatch and transportation management tools to follow loads and manage records.
- Keep documentation accurate, current, and well organized.
- Work with operations, customer service, and management to improve fleet use and support safe, efficient transport.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has background in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations, with FTL freight experience preferred. Strong communication and customer service abilities are important, along with comfort using dispatch platforms, transportation management systems, email, spreadsheets, and GPS or mapping tools.
This role also calls for strong organization, time management, and the ability to juggle multiple loads, deadlines, and changing priorities. The dispatcher should be able to solve problems calmly when faced with route changes, delays, or emergencies.
Working knowledge of transportation rules, safety practices, and industry terms is an advantage. Experience in trucking or freight brokerage, plus fluency in spoken and written English, are strong plus points. The candidate must be able to work on-site in Sarajevo and collaborate well in a fast-moving team environment.
