DP Mathematics Teacher (Applications & Interpretation)

Role Overview

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar, part of Nord Anglia Education, is seeking a committed DP Mathematics Teacher to teach IB Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation at Standard Level and/or Higher Level. This is a full-time, on-site position within a values-led IB World School.

Key Duties

• Design and deliver high-quality lessons in DP Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation for SL and/or HL, in line with IB course expectations and exam requirements.
• Build students’ mathematical reasoning, modelling ability, statistical understanding, and confidence with technology such as GDCs and mathematical applications.
• Oversee the Internal Assessment process, including the Mathematical Exploration, by giving students clear direction, support, and feedback.
• Prepare learners thoroughly for IB external assessments through structured, data-led instruction.
• Adapt teaching to support a wide range of learners, including students with additional learning needs and those learning English as an additional language.
• Teach MYP Mathematics when scheduled, using an inquiry-based approach and maintaining strong academic standards.
• Contribute positively to the Mathematics department and to school life more broadly.

Candidate Profile

• You should hold a recognised teaching qualification and a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
• Experience teaching IB DP Mathematics is required, with Applications and Interpretation being especially relevant.
• Strong understanding of IB DP assessment, Internal Assessment, and examination preparation is needed.
• You must be comfortable using GDCs, mathematical software, and other classroom technologies to improve learning.
• Excellent classroom leadership, communication, and differentiation skills are essential.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing is expected.
• IB DP Mathematics workshop training would be an advantage, and prior international school experience is also desirable.
• Applicants must be able to satisfy visa requirements for employment in Qatar.
