Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

Klybeck Life Sciences MENA is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong main contractor background to lead and coordinate the full electrical scope on site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires practical leadership across installation, coordination, technical review, procurement support, commissioning, and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the on-site installation of electrical systems, including HV/LV power, lighting, ELV/telecom, and fire alarm works, while ensuring adherence to project specifications and applicable building regulations.
• Work closely with site superintendents and subcontractors to plan electrical activities in the right sequence and prevent clashes with mechanical, plumbing, and other trades.
• Examine IFC design packages and flag design issues, code non-compliances, and possible value-engineering improvements.
• Oversee the preparation and checking of shop drawings, single-line diagrams, load schedules, and coordination models for electrical works.
• Carry out or validate engineering calculations such as voltage drop, cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination using actual site conditions.
• Review supplier quotations and compile technical bid evaluations to support procurement of electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, generators, and panels.
• Prepare material submittals for client and consultant approval, making sure proposed materials and equipment meet the project’s technical requirements.
• Monitor material deliveries and inspect incoming items for conformity and any transport or handling damage before installation.
• Handle the complete NOC and utility connection process with the relevant local authorities.
• Supervise testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems to confirm safe, reliable, and efficient operation before handover.
• Ensure that accurate as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals are completed and submitted at project closeout.
• Support the Project Manager with cost estimates, variation order preparation, and project risk reviews.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience working with main contractors.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical installation, coordination, testing, commissioning, and project documentation.
• Ability to review design documents, technical submittals, and engineering calculations.
• Experience dealing with authorities and utility connection processes.
• Strong coordination skills for managing multiple site trades and subcontractors.

Additional Information

This position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, on-site role. The role involves supporting project execution across the full lifecycle of electrical works, from design review and procurement through installation, commissioning, and handover.
