Job description
Role overview
An opportunity has opened up within Lancashire County Council’s Virtual School Employment Support team for an Engagement Adviser. The post is permanent, full time, and based on a 37-hour working week. You will be part of an established team that already includes an Engagement Adviser and Employment Officers.
Salary and working pattern
The salary for this post is £28,142 to £32,061 per year. The role is full time at 37 hours per week.
Work location
This position requires flexible working across Lancashire, with the main focus on the central and southern parts of the county.
What the role is about
The successful candidate will help care-experienced young people in Lancashire, aged 16 to 18, take positive steps back into education, employment, or training. This forms part of the Virtual School’s wider responsibilities.
Key expectations
You should bring proven experience of managing a caseload and a solid understanding of the needs of children who have been in care. The role involves delivering high-quality one-to-one guidance sessions to young people in the target group, as well as supporting employability training sessions for groups. A good working knowledge of local labour market information across Lancashire is also needed so that support can be tailored effectively.
You will work closely with a broad range of internal and external partners and provide support to the current Employment Officers in the team.
