About the Role

Join the San Diego Padres as an Event Crew member at Petco Park, playing a vital role in the execution of all events. This part-time, non-exempt position is crucial for ensuring safe and memorable experiences for all guests. You will embody the Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED, by proactively engaging with guests and consistently aiming to surpass their expectations. This is a year-round role with specific availability requirements during the baseball season and for major venue events.

Responsibilities

  • Actively welcome guests and consistently strive to exceed their expectations, embodying the Petco Park Promise (CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED).
  • Assist in the setup, execution, and breakdown of various events, including Padres home games, concerts, community gatherings, and other special events, both on and offsite.
  • Provide safe and efficient shuttle or wheelchair transportation to guests, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and management using a two-way radio.
  • Support the distribution of promotional giveaways and the execution of other promotional events and activations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate consistency, punctuality, and reliable attendance.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to ensure efficient and effective operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Show a willingness to learn and embrace the opportunities presented by the Event Crew role.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance according to the San Diego Padres organization's standards.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the commencement of employment.
  • Must possess a valid, current driver's license with a clean driving record, subject to review.
  • Must be available to work at least an 8-hour shift on designated "All Hands on Deck" dates, which require full staffing for promotions, concerts, or full venue events.
  • Must be available to work at least 30% of home games that are not designated as "All Hands on Deck" dates during the season.
  • Must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including a background check, as a condition of employment.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to travel to various areas of the ballpark for extended periods, in diverse weather conditions (heat, direct sun, inclement weather), and the capacity to lift or transport up to 35 pounds.

Eligibility

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid current driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must be available for specific event dates, including "All Hands on Deck" days and at least 30% of home games.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
