About the Role
The Expansion Manager will lead growth across the sales market by shaping expansion strategy, overseeing portfolio management, and supporting investment planning. The role is responsible for helping deliver profitable development while staying aligned with the company’s long-term direction.
This is a hybrid position reporting to the General Manager, Canada and based in the Toronto Support Office. The job is salaried and exempt.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the expansion function within the assigned sales market.
- Build the conditions needed for strong team and individual performance across the market.
- Identify, develop, and support talent to help create a future-ready and diverse organization.
- Encourage teamwork and strengthen collaboration across functions.
- Develop and execute the market’s expansion and portfolio plan in line with brand plans, global strategic priorities, the Sales Market General Manager, and other departments.
- Improve sales productivity, profitability, and cost control while setting investment levels, sustainability objectives, and other targets that support brand plans.
- Review and advise on CAPEX allocation against the local project portfolio, recommending changes where necessary.
- Ensure a strong retail-space vision that reflects global direction and keeps the customer at the center of the expansion strategy.
- Contribute commercial insights to portfolio strategy through sales performance review, consumer demand analysis, and catchment area assessment.
- Support project management and strategic alignment for Key Cities in the market.
- Ensure rollout of the global Omni Store Operating Model.
- Drive implementation of technical capabilities to maximize value from products and value streams.
- Co-lead expansion audits and make sure projects are planned and executed in line with company expectations.
- Ensure work with external partners is handled professionally and that negotiations and contract execution meet company, legal, and ethical standards.
- Review and approve store network projects within the market approval process, while helping improve business case quality and legal wording.
- Maintain strong communication between the sales market and global functions, sharing market needs while staying aligned with company direction and promoting synergies.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Sales Market General Manager.
- Encourage collaboration across and beyond the sales market.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism throughout the teams in the market.
Requirements
- Proven leadership and coaching capability, with strong experience in stakeholder management.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term goals and immediate priorities.
- Excellent skills in planning, prioritization, and organization.
- Strong analytical ability, results orientation, and financial understanding.
- Advanced written and spoken English communication skills.
- Good command of MS Office.
- At least 5 years of experience in expansion or a senior leadership position in a related area.
- Good understanding of expansion strategy, leasing, and construction/facilities management.
- Experience leading and developing teams in complex international environments.
- Demonstrated success in a matrix organization with many stakeholders and seniority levels.
- Clear, socially confident, and supportive leadership style, with a mix of analytical and creative thinking, decisiveness, resilience, and strong execution focus.

Compensation
