About the Role
Air Arabia's CoreOps Service Private Limited, a newly established Global Capability Center based in Pune, India, is seeking a Finance Controller. This subsidiary supports the global business operations of the Air Arabia group, focusing on streamlining and standardizing processes to enhance operational efficiency across its subsidiaries and associated ventures worldwide.
Job Overview
The Finance Controller will oversee the company's financial operations with an emphasis on accounts payable, audit and compliance, reporting, banking, and reconciliations. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, coordination with Group Finance leadership, and proactivity in enhancing financial processes to maintain accurate records, regulatory adherence, and effective cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and update precise financial statements and reports to facilitate management decisions.
- Perform bank and ledger reconciliations, investigate inconsistencies, and promptly resolve issues.
- Coordinate with Group Finance teams to harmonize accounting practices and consolidate financial reporting.
- Ensure adherence to local tax laws including GST filings and corporate governance standards.
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, encompassing invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor relations.
- Guarantee timely settlements, address payment issues, and uphold audit-compliant documentation.
- Oversee daily cash management activities including cash flow forecasting, banking liaison, and liquidity monitoring.
- Collaborate with tax advisors to prepare and accurately file Income Tax Returns within deadlines.
- Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines.
- Stay informed of changes in regulatory frameworks affecting financial reporting and ensure company compliance.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies within finance processes.
- Serve as a communication bridge between the accounting department and group management, ensuring smooth process alignment.
- Maintain accuracy of financial information within the Oracle Financial System and routinely audit system-generated reports for anomalies and corrections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Four to six years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of two years in a comparable position.
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable, auditing, compliance, banking operations, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency with accounting software platforms such as SAP and Oracle, along with advanced Excel capabilities.
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder and management liaison.
Work Experience
- Experience with Indian accounting principles and standards.
- Previous exposure to India-based managed services or outsourcing environments is advantageous.
- Capability to analyze financial data, discern patterns, and contribute to informed business decisions.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Skill in resolving financial discrepancies and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
