Role Summary

The Finance Director position is a full-time remote role responsible for guiding financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making. The role owns budgeting and forecasting, monitors cash flow, and delivers precise financial statements and internal reporting on schedule. It works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to review business performance, assess investments, and support long-term growth plans. In addition, the role helps build and improve financial controls, maintains regulatory compliance, and streamlines financial systems and processes. The Finance Director also leads and develops the finance team, coordinates with outside advisors when required, and communicates financial insights clearly to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s financial planning, reporting, and decision-support functions.
• Own the budgeting and forecasting process and keep cash flow under control.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and internal reports in a timely manner.
• Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to assess performance and guide strategic initiatives.
• Review investment opportunities and provide data-backed recommendations.
• Design, implement, and refine financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure financial operations align with applicable laws and regulations.
• Improve financial systems and workflows to support efficiency and scale.
• Mentor and guide the finance team.
• Collaborate with external advisors when specialized support is needed.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise way.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of finance fundamentals, including planning and reporting.
• Hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Strong analytical ability for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and evidence-based decisions.
• Experience building and maintaining financial controls, policies, and processes in a fast-growing environment.
• Familiarity with modern financial tools, ERP or accounting platforms, and advanced spreadsheet work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-finance audiences.
• Prior senior finance experience such as Finance Director, Controller, or an equivalent role, ideally in technology or a high-growth business.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; CPA or CFA is advantageous.
• Comfort working fully remotely while managing multiple priorities and collaborating with distributed teams.
