About the Role
Pacific Aviation is hiring a Flight Operations Manager to guide, support, and mentor the team at SFO. The role focuses on flight dispatch, station coordination, regulatory compliance, operational safety, and team leadership.
Flight Operations
- Lead and coordinate flight operation and control activities for regional stations through flight dispatchers and other supporting staff.
Experience and Technical Requirements
- At least five years of experience in flight operations.
- Valid FAA Flight Dispatch License.
- Preferred familiarity with SITA, ARINC, LIDO, Jeppesen, and Sabre communication or flight planning systems.
- Training required for carrier assignments under CFR 14 Parts 121, 129, and 135, as well as CFR 14 Part 120 and CFR 49 Part 40.
- Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies and airport requirements.
- Capability to carry out aircraft performance-related work.
Leadership and Operational Expectations
- Provide strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal support to the team.
- Use sound judgment to solve problems and stay effective in high-pressure situations.
- Prioritize tasks, manage time well, and maintain efficiency throughout the day.
- Be available for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain responsibility for flight safety.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of computerized flight and ATC plans for international, trans-Pacific, and trans-Atlantic operations.
- Deliver complete weather and operational briefings to flight crews and review weather, NOTAM, and ATC data to support safe, compliant operations aligned with airline SOPs.
- Supervise both Flight Operations and Weight & Balance functions.
- Coordinate with senior management, clients, vendors, airport authorities, and government agencies to keep station activity compliant with federal, state, company, and airline rules.
- Develop and manage Flight Dispatch and Weight & Balance staff to improve on-time performance, staffing, training, and safety.
- Create staff schedules that make effective use of personnel and facilities.
- Prepare reports related to flight operations, payroll, and client billing.
- Work within budget limits.
