Where you'll work
Job description
Role Overview
You’ll join a small, high-trust People & Talent team at a T-1 VC-backed mobility startup, working side by side with the Head of People as the second person in the function. The company currently has more than 75 employees spread across 3 sites and 12+ stores, and is hiring toward about 95 people by year-end as it enters its next growth phase.
This is a build-focused position rather than a maintenance role. You’ll be expected to own projects from start to finish, work with real operational data, and operate where strategy, execution, and day-to-day operations meet.
Key Work Areas
- Eliminate unnecessary manual work by identifying broken or outdated processes and replacing them with better systems. This includes improving Notion structure, setting up HRIS workflows, and introducing automation where possible.
- Manage recruiting for a defined set of roles with full ownership. You’ll act as the main link between candidates and hiring managers, while senior and especially difficult searches remain with the Head of People.
- Handle onboarding and offboarding end to end, from contract signature through the first productive week and through accurate, well-managed exits that are designed to scale.
- Keep compliance and people operations precise and reliable, including employment contracts, certificates, references, and documentation across all sites.
- Research, compare, and implement employee benefits based on evidence and benchmarking rather than intuition alone.
- Support employer branding and job-ad writing by helping shape how roles and company culture are presented to candidates. Paid-channel expertise is a bonus but not the main measure of success in this role.
- Use your own judgment to spot gaps, raise issues, and take action to fix what is missing or not working.
Requirements
- Any prior exposure to a startup environment or people systems is a strong advantage; internship experience is also welcome.
- You are highly structured, detail-oriented, and dependable, with a strong ability to see tasks through without leaving gaps.
- Fluency in German at C2 level is mandatory, along with professional-level English.
- You naturally think in systems and processes, and if a task repeats, you are already looking for a better way to do it by the third time.
- You can work independently, close tasks without constant follow-up, and take responsibility for finishing what you start.
- You handle confidential information carefully and understand the importance of discretion.
- You stay effective in ambiguous situations and can prioritise well when many things feel urgent at once.
Benefits and Offer
The role comes with a small HQ team, a fast pace, and the chance to contribute to meaningful outcomes while working closely with leadership that trusts you to deliver.
- Broad end-to-end ownership with the chance to create real impact across multiple functions from day one.
- Strong career development potential in a fast-scaling, operations-heavy startup, with exposure that can support future leadership or founder-track roles.
- Central Berlin Mitte office location near Rosenthaler Platz.
- A product with strong traction, reflected in NPS scores above 90 for both B2B and B2C and Google ratings consistently between 4.8 and 5.0 stars.
- Wellpass gym membership, a work laptop, and the possibility of a VSOP package.
- Mentorship from an experienced scale-up professional who has supported founders across multiple early-stage and scaling companies, including Getir.
Company Context
The business is a mobility startup backed by top-tier venture capital, operating across multiple sites and stores and moving through a period of rapid scale.
