Job description
Overview
We are hiring a General Operative in traffic management for our Bonnybridge location (FK4 2AQ). This is an onsite role with flexible shift arrangements, including combinations of day and night work. The position is part of a team that supports safe and efficient traffic flow across highways, construction sites, roadworks, events, and emergency situations.
The employer has a strong track record in Scotland, with more than 30 years of experience providing traffic management services across highways, local authority work, utilities, rail, and events.
Shift Patterns
- 12 days on and 2 days off, with a weekend off before continuing the cycle
- 6 days on and 1 day off
- Part-time rota across 4 days, with either Saturday to Tuesday or Thursday to Sunday shifts
- Night-shift opportunities are also available for high-speed operatives, and these require a valid 12AB Lantra qualification
What You Will Do
- Set up, manage, and maintain traffic management systems
- Direct traffic safely during roadworks, public events, and emergency works
- Work closely with colleagues and customers to keep operations running smoothly
- Contribute to a people-focused workplace and support an ongoing cultural improvement programme
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, live within 40 minutes’ driving distance of the depot, and be flexible enough to work the shift patterns listed above. A full UK driving licence is required, it must have been held for more than 10 months, and it must have no more than 6 penalty points.

Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to work the stated day and night shift patterns
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points and held for at least 10 months
- Residence within 40 minutes of the depot
- Traffic management qualifications such as Lantra 12AB, 12D M1/M2, or Unit 2 are preferred but not mandatory
