Job Summary
Working under the close guidance of the TLC and/or Assistant Team Leader (ATL), the Hanger role focuses on correctly hanging and labeling apparel and other merchandise, keeping hang totals accurate, and moving clothing items out to the sales floor. The position also requires keeping the processing area orderly and sanitary while consistently meeting the organization’s daily production target of 800 units. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Team Leader Coach.
Key Duties
- Follow the organization’s guiding rule that donated goods should be processed within 24 hours so merchandise keeps moving to the sales floor.
- Track hang counts carefully and regularly meet or surpass the daily target of 800 units.
- Sort saleable apparel into the hanging area, size and tag items as needed, and place garments on racks.
- Move completed racks to the sales floor and help with garment rotation and dressing room checks when needed.
- Review clothing and merchandise for defects such as tears, stains, damaged zippers, and missing buttons.
- Keep the workspace tidy, organized, and fully supplied.
- Observe safety and security procedures, including reporting hazards.
- Take part in assigned in-service or other training sessions.
- Carry out other responsibilities requested by the TLC and/or ATL.
Production Expectations
The role requires precise counting and a steady pace to meet and frequently exceed the daily MGI output goal of 800 units.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs and perform bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching tasks.
- Needs the stamina to stand and/or walk for long stretches.
- Must maintain accurate hang counts while consistently producing at or above 800 units per day.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to bend, reach, stand for long periods, and lift up to 60 lbs on a regular basis.
- Must be able to keep hang counts accurate and consistently meet or exceed the 800-unit daily goal.
- Should be able to communicate effectively in both speaking and writing, and perform basic math.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and a flexible schedule.
