Role overview

As a Home Delivery Driver, you will be a key part of making sure online orders reach customers as expected.

Eligibility

• You need to be at least 18 years old and have held a valid UK or EU driving licence for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than 6 penalty points.
• You will be asked to complete an online driving risk assessment during the interview process, and successful candidates will also complete a driving assessment after joining.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Key duties

• Drive a 3.5-tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ homes safely, on time, and in good condition.
• Check that the van is clean, organised, roadworthy, and that delivery cases are properly secured before heading out.
• Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, handling substitutions, and keeping customers informed about any delays.
• Develop solid knowledge of products, services, and promotions so you can make helpful suggestions and recommendations.
• Support other store tasks when you are not on delivery duty.

• Confidence driving a larger vehicle across different routes and settings, including busy residential roads and narrow country lanes.
• Comfort working in a busy, physical, high-energy setting and using initiative to solve problems, often independently while also contributing as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexibly and maintain a high standard across store tasks when required, with training provided across multiple skills.
• Comfort using digital tools and technology, and the ability to handle shopping containers weighing up to 15 kg.
• The role also involves operating in an environment that uses in-cab AI cameras to monitor driving behaviour and support compliance with road laws and defensive driving standards.
