Hotel Maintenance Technician

Role overview

This position is based at a resort/hotel setting in a remote location in Tofino, British Columbia. The work must be carried out at the physical workplace; remote work is not available. Key duties

• Use industrial vacuum cleaners to clear debris, dirt, scraps, and other waste.
• Carry out basic fixes and adjustments on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and coordinate with tradespeople for larger repairs.
• Arrange repair and maintenance services with outside contractors when needed.
• Handle small appliance repairs.
• Complete routine safety and security inspections.
• Oversee other staff members.
• Relocate heavy furnishings, equipment, and supplies.
• Undertake general upkeep tasks such as painting and drywall patching.
• Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
• Sanitize bathrooms and fixtures.
• Work independently with limited supervision.
• Remove snow and ice from pathways and parking areas.

Credentials

A WHMIS certificate is required.

Specialized experience

Experience or knowledge in specialized environmental practices is needed.
