Role overview
This position is based at a resort/hotel setting in a remote location in Tofino, British Columbia. The work must be carried out at the physical workplace; remote work is not available. Key duties
- Use industrial vacuum cleaners to clear debris, dirt, scraps, and other waste.
- Carry out basic fixes and adjustments on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and coordinate with tradespeople for larger repairs.
- Arrange repair and maintenance services with outside contractors when needed.
- Handle small appliance repairs.
- Complete routine safety and security inspections.
- Oversee other staff members.
- Relocate heavy furnishings, equipment, and supplies.
- Undertake general upkeep tasks such as painting and drywall patching.
- Water and care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
- Sanitize bathrooms and fixtures.
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Remove snow and ice from pathways and parking areas.
Credentials
A WHMIS certificate is required.
Specialized experience
Experience or knowledge in specialized environmental practices is needed.
