Role overview

As a Human Resources Assistant, you will help keep the HR function running smoothly by providing administrative and operational support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, recordkeeping, compliance, and internal communication.

Recruitment and hiring support

  • Assist in the hiring process by sharing job advertisements, reviewing applications, and arranging interviews.
  • Coordinate interview schedules and keep candidates updated throughout the selection process.
  • Draft offer letters, employment contracts, and onboarding paperwork.
  • Keep recruitment files and applicant tracking records organized and up to date.

Onboarding and HR administration

  • Help plan and coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Prepare employee files and make sure all required documents are completed and stored properly.
  • Respond to employee questions and routine HR requests.
  • Maintain accurate employee databases, files, and records systems.

HR operations and compliance

  • Keep employee records current, correct, and aligned with company policies and legal obligations.
  • Support the monitoring of HR processes and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports, metrics, and supporting documentation.
  • Help administer workplace policies, staff handbooks, and procedure documents.

Employee engagement and internal support

  • Assist with engagement activities, training initiatives, and company events.
  • Support the administration of performance reviews and employee development efforts.
  • Coordinate internal HR communications, announcements, and program updates.
  • Build positive working relationships across teams and departments.

General administrative duties

  • Handle HR correspondence, calendars, and meeting arrangements.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other HR documents.
  • Organize and protect confidential personnel records.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR Manager and leadership team as needed.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma, Associate degree, or Bachelor's degree is acceptable.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • A professional, approachable, and cooperative attitude.
