Role Overview
An opening is available for an Import Documentation Executive in Rajkot, Gujarat, within the consumer electronics sector. The role is intended for professionals with 2 to 5 years of experience who can manage import paperwork, shipment coordination, and customs-related follow-ups end to end.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full import documentation cycle and coordinate shipment movement from start to finish.
- Prepare and check key import papers such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and related documents.
- Work with CHA partners, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and suppliers to help shipments clear on time.
- Ensure import activities comply with customs rules, HS code requirements, DGFT guidelines, and standard EXIM procedures.
- Monitor shipment progress and keep documentation records accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with finance and stores teams for duty payment processing and material receipt updates.
- Identify and resolve document mismatches and issues that may delay clearance.
- Prepare MIS reports and share regular shipment status updates.
- Use ICEGATE, E-Sanchit, and other relevant import documentation platforms as part of daily work.
Skills and Expertise Needed
The ideal candidate should be familiar with import documentation, customs clearance, Incoterms, HS codes, and EXIM workflows. Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills are essential, along with working knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems. High accuracy and close attention to detail are important for this role.
