Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated Janitors to maintain cleanliness and order within school facilities. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning duties to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Collect and properly dispose of trash and waste according to approved procedures and infection control guidelines.
• Perform routine floor care, including dusting, damp mopping, stripping, scrubbing, buffing, and refinishing floors.
• Shampoo carpets as needed to maintain cleanliness.
• Clean and sanitize assigned areas using designated materials and equipment, following an eight-step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Proactively identify and address areas requiring cleaning, taking initiative to complete tasks.
• Move and replace equipment and furniture to facilitate thorough cleaning.
• Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
• Contribute positively to the team, demonstrating professionalism in interactions with colleagues and supervisors.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Prior janitorial experience is preferred but not required, as training is provided.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willingness to undergo a Florida Level 2 background screening if required for certain positions.
