Job Summary
Café de Palma is looking for a careful and driven Junior Software Tester to join the team in New Zealand. This full-time role focuses on checking software for defects, recording results clearly, and partnering with development teams to help deliver reliable, high-quality applications.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out manual testing across software applications and related systems.
- Build, refresh, and manage test cases, test plans, and supporting test records.
- Spot software issues, log them accurately, and follow them through to resolution.
- Re-test fixes and perform regression testing to confirm changes have not introduced new problems.
- Work alongside developers, business analysts, and project teams to understand functional expectations.
- Contribute to user acceptance testing activities when needed.
- Share testing progress, findings, and outcomes with relevant stakeholders.
- Help ensure the product meets functional and quality standards.
- Support ongoing improvements to testing methods and quality assurance practices.
- Assist with automation testing efforts where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Prior exposure through an internship, academic project, or previous software testing experience is an advantage.
- Foundational knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Some familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools is preferred.
- Strong focus on detail and solid analytical skills.
- Good written and spoken communication abilities.
- Quick learner who can collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in New Zealand.
