Job description
About the role
The Inn Collection Group operates award-winning pubs with rooms across standout locations in the North of England and Wales. The business is built around hospitality, guided by values of respect, customer focus, warmth, and honesty, with a clear aim of making people happy.
This Kitchen Porter opportunity is based at The Kingslodge Inn in Durham. The site blends a calm, countryside-style setting with quick access to the centre of historic Durham, including Durham Cathedral and the adjoining Castle, both part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
What you will do
In this position, you will support the kitchen team by keeping hygiene standards high and helping the operation run smoothly. You will take charge of the washing-up area, maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment, and assist with straightforward food preparation tasks.
You will also work closely with colleagues and customers, always using a polite and confident approach. The job calls for adaptability, a professional personal appearance, and a willingness to carry out the cleaning rota and any other general tasks assigned by the team.
Rewards and benefits
- An extra paid day off to celebrate your birthday.
- Access to the Lead-Inn development programme to help you progress.
- Paid breaks.
- Half-price food at any of the group’s inns.
- Accommodation in any of the inns during January, February, and March for £1.
- One-third off room bookings throughout the year.
- Same-day bookings available for £50.
- 15% discount on bed and breakfast for friends and family.
- 24/7 confidential help through the Employee Assistance Programme.
