Overview
Penspen is hiring a Lead - Procurement Quality for its Abu Dhabi office. This role focuses on leading procurement quality activities for offshore work, with strong attention to compliance, supplier performance, cost control, and coordination across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the procurement workflow and make sure all activities follow the required industry standards and project specifications.
- Create and maintain procurement plans and strategies that match project scope, delivery milestones, and schedules.
- Identify, assess, and appoint suitable suppliers and vendors, while managing negotiations and securing value-driven commercial terms.
- Work closely with project, engineering, and construction teams to keep procurement needs aligned and communication clear.
- Examine and sign off procurement documents such as RFQs, technical bids, and supplier quotations.
- Track procurement status closely and address any delays or issues affecting material deliveries.
- Oversee procurement budgets and support cost control against financial forecasts.
- Ensure all procurement work complies with ADNOC requirements as well as other applicable regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Guide and support the procurement team, including mentoring junior engineers and staff members.
- Contribute to risk management efforts by helping define and implement mitigation measures for procurement-related risks.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
- At least 17 years of procurement experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- A minimum of 5 years of offshore project experience.
- Background in a PMC environment, with a demonstrated ability to deliver effective procurement strategies for major projects.
- Experience on ADNOC projects will be considered a strong advantage.
- Strong capability in negotiation, analytical thinking, and solving complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong people skills.
- Solid understanding of procurement workflows, contract administration, and supplier management.
- Comfortable using procurement systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Able to perform well under pressure and manage several priorities at once.
