The opportunity
Veolia is looking for an organised and proactive Maintenance Planner to join its Wellington Region team. In this role, you will help lead the delivery of the Operations & Maintenance Programme and make sure assets are maintained to a high standard.
You will also take ownership of keeping the Veolia Asset Management System (VAMS) up to date, with a strong focus on prioritising and scheduling preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance so operations continue without disruption.

Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain detailed preventive maintenance schedules and plans for corrective maintenance work
- Handle incoming work requests in real time and choose the most effective use of available resources
- Run weekly planning meetings with operations, maintenance, and process teams
- Record maintenance activity accurately to support reporting and tracking
- Assist with statutory, regulatory, and health and safety obligations
- Spot opportunities for maintenance windows and efficient operational scheduling
- Support site work by using Permit to Work systems correctly
Required experience and skills
To succeed in this position, you should already have experience planning tasks in a CMMS and a solid understanding of maintenance and operational work. You will also need experience supervising contractors safely and must hold a full, clean driver licence.
It would be an advantage to have experience with wastewater assets or a similar industry, along with confidence using Google tools and maintenance management software. A background in mechanical or electrical engineering, strong verbal and written communication skills, and sound commercial judgement would also be beneficial.
Health and safety knowledge
The following experience or qualifications are helpful, although training can be provided where required: awareness of health and safety for industrial sites, confined space awareness or certification, competence with Permit to Work systems, and the ability to contribute to risk assessments and method statements.
