About the role

re:Cycle Reverse Logistics is an electronics processing, reuse, and recycling business focused on extending the useful life of electronic equipment through repair, reuse, and recycling. It operates as an independent company within the Amazon corporate family and supports other Amazon businesses. The organization handles valuable electronics that were originally used in data centers.

The team is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its Reverse Logistics operation in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. The role supports the scaling of IT asset disposition services for used electronics and electronic equipment through secure, environmentally responsible practices that enable asset recovery, reuse, recycling, and broader circular economy efforts.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of custom-built plant equipment, including machinery with significant mechanical components. It is distinct from facilities maintenance functions such as HVAC and life safety systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Collect, organize, and keep current all OEM manuals for the equipment on site.
  • Inspect equipment to confirm that safety devices and protective guards are installed and functioning.
  • Work closely with the environmental health and safety team and take part in safety incident reviews and related programs.
  • Evaluate equipment failures and complete on-site repairs when the issue is within scope and complexity allows.
  • When repairs require outside support, escalate to the vendor, track performance against SLAs, and maintain a callout log with any SLA breaches.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting so repair and upgrade needs are adequately funded.
  • Keep the work area organized and maintain 5S standards at all times.
  • Escalate issues to senior management when needed.
  • Meet assigned targets and service-level commitments.
  • Follow all safety, health, and security procedures and rules.
  • Be prepared for prolonged standing, sitting, and walking in a warehouse setting with moderate to loud noise.
  • Occasionally assist with loading and unloading shipments.
  • Be able to work in environments that may occasionally be very hot or very cold.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Windows-based operating systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and work shifts of up to 12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations, including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA, is preferred.
  • Experience interpreting construction specifications and drawings across different disciplines is preferred.

The compensation package includes base pay, sign-on payments, and restricted stock units. Final pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
