- Engage hands-on in media relations by personally pitching, securing, and shaping press coverage across trade, business, and entertainment outlets, utilizing an existing network of press contacts.
- Develop and articulate multi-title storylines connecting individual shows to larger cultural and industry narratives.
- Create innovative storytelling approaches and brand narratives that enable titles to stand out culturally, identifying unique story angles leveraging social media, fandom, and pop culture trends.
- Collaborate closely with creative executives, production, marketing, and legal teams to influence long-term communication strategies and provide expert guidance.
- Anticipate and manage brand and reputational risks, including sensitive or reactive situations such as cancellations, human resource matters, or contentious content, exercising sound judgment under pressure.
- Coordinate and secure opportunities for executives, creators, and talent to participate in interviews, press tours, panels, and speaking engagements.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of communications experience within an agency, studio, or network setting, preferably in entertainment or media sectors.
- Proven expertise in devising and executing both proactive and reactive communication strategies for scripted television, film, or equivalent premium content.
- Successful track record in crafting overarching narratives for multiple titles or franchises that align with broader cultural, economic, or industry themes.
- Established and active relationships with media across trade, business, entertainment, consumer, and emerging platforms, with a personal history of pitching and securing impactful press coverage.
- Exceptional storytelling ability to simplify complicated or delicate situations into clear, persuasive narratives and media pitches.
- Strong decision-making skills in managing brand and communication risks, performing well under pressure and ambiguity.
- Effective collaborator with cross-functional teams including creative, legal, marketing, and publicity divisions.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, excellent organizational skills, and capability to manage numerous complex projects simultaneously.
- A motivated and ambitious self-starter with insightful perspectives on cultural trends.
