The EHS Manager will own the rollout, day-to-day oversight, and ongoing enhancement of safety, compliance, and operational performance across distribution centers and fleet activities. The role is centered on building a strong safety mindset through training, audits, learning sessions, and standard operating procedures, while also contributing to broader operational goals.

Environmental Health & Safety

  • Design, lead, and maintain safety training initiatives, learning events, and SOPs across all operational areas.
  • Perform recurring safety audits, inspections, and risk reviews to confirm compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance in distribution center operations, transport fleets, and higher-risk plant and equipment environments.
  • Own safety and compliance improvement projects and drive them to timely completion with measurable results.
  • Support ISO certification activities and keep related documentation current across operational sites.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators, leading indicators, and corrective action tracking/governance.
  • Build a consistent North American EHS governance model for all distribution center operations.
  • Implement risk-reduction measures aligned with OSHA, DOT, ISO 45001, CSA, and other local regulatory obligations.
  • Prepare annual strategic plans for safety and compliance improvements across distribution centers.
  • Oversee transport safety governance for slab transport fleets, including programs that address material-handling risk.
  • Lead major incident investigations using root-cause analysis methods.
  • Create corrective and preventive action programs with clear accountability for closure.
  • Provide executive reporting on critical risks and incident patterns.

Operations Support

  • Track and report operational KPIs, including risk-related performance analysis.
  • Support bonus calculations and other incentive-based programs for operations teams.
  • Spot and implement opportunities to improve efficiency and operational outcomes.
  • Set up compliance assurance processes for contractors and third-party logistics partners.
  • Review compliance practices for outside transport providers and unloading work at customer locations.
  • Define minimum safety expectations and operating standards for contractors.

Travel and Work Environment

  • Regular travel to distribution centers and other operating sites is required, with travel expected to be as high as 50%.
  • The job includes both office-based and industrial settings, with exposure to active warehouse and yard operations, forklifts, cranes, heavy equipment, and truck traffic.
  • Applicants must be comfortable standing and walking for long periods during inspections and audits.
  • Personal protective equipment must be used whenever required on-site.
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal business hours may be needed for training, audits, or urgent project timelines.
  • A laptop and standard office tools will be used regularly for reporting, documentation, and communication.

Compensation

The expected total compensation for this role is $97,000 to $122,000 per year, including base pay and an incentive bonus opportunity. Base pay is set based on relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
