Job description
Role overview
The Storeman supports the Stores Supervisor by handling the safe receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of raw materials, packaging, and manufactured goods. The role is carried out in line with Australia’s Dangerous Goods requirements to help ensure products are delivered accurately and on time to internal and external customers.
Key duties
- Follow all safe work practices, procedures, hygiene requirements, and PPE standards to maintain a secure workplace.
- Work with the Stores Supervisor to pick customer orders for delivery and prepare container shipments.
- Wrap and secure finished goods, then place them into storage according to Dangerous Goods regulations in Australia.
- Support the loading of delivery vehicles and shipping containers.
- Assist with unloading incoming goods, checking quantities, and signing delivery documentation for items received into Klen.
- Help maintain cleanliness and order across store areas, the warehouse, Dangerous Goods bunkers, and the yard.
- Take part in stocktakes whenever management requests them.
- Attend safety meetings and contribute to initiatives that improve efficiency and workplace safety.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned.
Candidate profile
Applicants should have experience in warehousing Dangerous Goods and loading containers, along with the ability to work accurately and independently or as part of a team. A forklift licence is essential, and certification in Dangerous Goods warehousing is required. Maritime General Awareness and Maritime Function Specific certification is preferred.
Working environment
This position is based in a warehouse where temperatures may become high. It also involves work in a Lead environment and regular manual handling of items weighing up to 25 kg.
