Position Overview
Location: Madinat Zayed - relocation is mandatory.
We are looking for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer equipped with deep technical knowledge in HVAC systems, chilled water plants, and mechanical equipment sizing. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and extensive experience in reviewing mechanical designs, verifying correct equipment choice, and affirming system compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and confirm HVAC system designs, covering air distribution, ventilation, and cooling load criteria.
- Analyze and authenticate chilled water plant engineering, including pumps, chillers, heat exchangers, and related components.
- Examine mechanical equipment selections for proper sizing, operational efficiency, and adherence to project standards.
- Validate mechanical computations such as cooling/heating loads, pump head calculations, chilled water flow rates, and coil/equipment capacities.
- Review detailed shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements to ensure conformity with design objectives.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to troubleshoot design challenges and guarantee seamless system integration.
- Engage in technical discussions, site inspections, and design evaluation meetings.
- Offer mentoring and technical support to less experienced engineers to facilitate project completion.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- No less than 15 years of experience in mechanical design focused on HVAC and chilled water plant engineering.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC fundamentals, system design, chilled water plant operations and sizing, as well as mechanical equipment selection and performance assessment.
- Proficiency in mechanical design software and familiarity with relevant industry standards.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of independent work while managing several tasks simultaneously.
