Job Overview
We are hiring a highly organized and technology-comfortable Medical Scribe to support a remote clinical team. In this position, you will work alongside healthcare providers to record patient encounters as they happen, helping ensure that clinical notes are accurate, complete, and entered without delay. This support role contributes to smoother workflows, better patient care, and stronger clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture patient histories, physical examination details, assessments, and treatment plans during live appointments.
- Convert spoken clinical notes into written documentation and maintain electronic health records with a high level of accuracy.
- Check medical records for completeness, clarity, and internal consistency, then make edits where needed.
- Support coding and billing documentation while following provider direction.
- Protect sensitive patient information and follow HIPAA requirements at all times.
- Work with physicians and other clinical staff to improve the speed and quality of documentation.
- Keep track of follow-up items, referrals, and laboratory or test outcomes when required.
Qualifications
Applicants should have at least a high school diploma or an equivalent credential. A bachelor’s degree in health sciences or a related discipline is preferred. Previous exposure to a medical or healthcare environment is an advantage. Candidates must have a solid grasp of medical vocabulary and human anatomy, along with the ability to use EHR systems effectively. Fast and accurate typing is important, with 60 words per minute recommended. Strong listening, communication, and multitasking abilities are needed, as well as the capacity to stay precise and discreet in a fast-moving setting. A strong commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics is essential.

- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
