Job description
Role overview
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is leading an ambitious redevelopment of healthcare in North Manchester through the North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) Redevelopment Programme. The initiative will bring a new hospital and health campus to the current North Manchester General Hospital site, creating modern clinical facilities and supporting a major transformation in how services are delivered. This position offers the chance to contribute to one of the largest public-sector health transformation programmes in Manchester.
What the role involves
The NMGH New Hospital Programme Officer will work alongside the NM Programme Office Manager to help design, implement and run a strong PMO function that keeps the New Hospital Project and its related sub-projects well controlled and effectively managed. The remit may also extend beyond the new hospital project to support the wider NMGH Programme where needed.
You will take ownership of selected programme and project management activities, helping to shape and run specialist controls on a day-to-day basis while working closely with Workstream Leads and other stakeholders. The role requires handling information that is highly complex, sensitive and sometimes contentious, so accuracy, discretion and clear communication are essential.
Key areas of responsibility
- Support project planning and help maintain structured delivery plans.
- Manage RAID logs covering risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
- Assist with change control processes and related decision-making.
- Prepare and contribute to programme and project reporting, as well as governance arrangements.
- Support benefits management, including tracking and documenting expected outcomes.
- Maintain effective information management practices.
- Help coordinate change management activity across the programme.
- Contribute to assurance processes and delivery confidence.
- Support stakeholder communications and engagement.
- Identify and help implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provide broader support to the wider NMGH Redevelopment Programme and its projects when required.
