Role overview
This position is essential to keeping trains clean, presentable, and comfortable, helping create a positive experience for passengers. The work is carried out onboard while the train is in service, so interaction with passengers and train crew is part of the role.
Working pattern
Shift times can start as early as 5:30am and finish as late as 11:00pm. The role involves 8-hour shifts, 2 shifts per week, with overtime available.
Responsibilities
- Carry out everyday cleaning duties on the train, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Keep an eye on cleaning stock and replace supplies when needed so daily tasks can be completed without interruption.
- Work onboard while trains are moving, maintaining a professional manner when dealing with passengers and rail staff.
Requirements
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Strong customer service skills are important for this role.
- Prior cleaning experience is beneficial, though not essential.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends is required.
