Position Summary
This role focuses on managing day-to-day logistics activities and making sure cargo moves smoothly and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate shipment workflows from start to finish.
- Support sea freight, road transport, and cross-border operations.
- Work closely with shipping lines, transport partners, and customers.
- Manage customs clearance activities and related procedures.
- Oversee warehouse coordination and movement planning.
- Draft, organize, and maintain shipping-related paperwork.
- Monitor shipment progress and keep clients informed of updates.
- Address and resolve operational challenges as they arise.
Key Competencies
- Good understanding of supply chain operations.
- Practical knowledge of freight forwarding.
- Familiarity with customs processes and warehousing.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to organization.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding within Eastern Africa.
- Working knowledge of local and transit customs procedures.
- Understanding of road networks and transit corridors across East Africa.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swahili.
- Basic computer literacy.
